Robyn DeHart and the wonderful folks at Forever Romance has organized this tour and I was lucky enough to be one of the blogs to host one of the stops. Robyn was kind enough to answer some questions for me! She is a new author to me that I’ve had on my authors to try list. I have now read my first Robyn DeHart book, Treasure Me and enjoyed it very much. I’ll be posting a review of this book later this week. So without further ado here is our Q&A session.
Welcome Robyn, to the blog! I am
very happy to have you here today! Can
you tell the readers a bit about your newest release Treasure Me?
participating in my blog tour. Rather than me try to explain the book, I’m
going to share the back cover blurb because it does a much better job than me.
their very existence only a rumor among the best of Victorian society. They are
treasure hunters, men of wealth and title, seekers of myths and legends. And no
legend is as enthralling as the Loch Ness monster . . .
has always been torn between his beloved Scottish homeland and his duty to the
English crown. But his is an adventurer’s soul and nothing keeps him from his
dream: finding a long-lost stone hidden near Loch Ness.
the Highlands looking for traces of the legendary beast—not a husband. Yet when
fate binds her to Graeme, it’s not all bad: he’s the first man ever to share
her hunger for adventure. As their passion grows, so too does certain danger,
and they’ll soon risk everything to keep the jewel out of a murder’s hands. But
can they do so without losing the greatest treasure of all . . . their love?
Can you tell us a about the hero Graeme Langford, Duke of Rothmore? What about Graeme do you think will draw the
readers and make them love him? Also how
do you pronounce that first name of his?
we’ve got the wealthy titled English part of him mixed with the kilt-wearing
Scottish side of him, he’s a nice mix. I think readers will love him because
he is driven and focused, he loves his family, he’s fascinated by Vanessa, the
heroine and because though it isn’t always easy, he always does the right
thing. His name is pronounced (and forgive my sad attempt at phonics) Gray-mm.
Not sure if that gets the point across, wow, I’ve never been asked that
Now tell us a bit about the heroine Vanessa Pembrooke? What about Vanessa do you think will draw the
readers and make them love her?
her. She’s smart and mouthy, but has a sweet innocence about her as well.
She’s truly ignorant about matters of the heart because she’s spent her life
loving books and science and doesn’t understand what’s happening when she
starts to fall for Graeme. She was a lot of fun to write.
Why are these two perfect for each other? What about them individually draws them to
one another? Why do you think the
readers will fall in love with this couple?
other because that’s who I made them. 🙂 Okay, that’s probably not what you
wanted. Well, they compliment each other in many ways, they both understand
familial duty and responsibility, Vanessa has done her fair share of it and as
the book opens we see her defy her responsibility (for a very good reason) and
go after her own dream. Another thing Graeme knows much about as he’s been
searching for the Stone of Destiny for a decade. He’s torn between two
heritages and Vanessa is torn between science and emotion and its through
loving each other that those issues get resolved. But they also had great
chemistry. Sometimes that happens with characters, you write them and they get
loose on the page and wham the sparks are flying, Graeme and Vanessa were like
that. They’re the most fun types of characters to write.
What was a scene that stood out or was memorable for you when writing
Treasure Me? Why did this scene stand
out for you?
very layered process so it’s hard to remember writing a specific scene because
things are so fluid until I get the revisions done. The first seduction scene
though is quite memorable. And the scene that deals with MacBeth was
particularly interesting though I can’t really share too much about it without
Can you tell us where the idea for The Legend Hunter series came
about? Are you a big adventurer person
yourself since this series involves some adventures for your characters?
hysterically. No, I’m not very adventurous. But I love the thought of
adventure, which makes writing about it fun and safe. To be honest the idea
actually came out of the Victorian era and some research I’d been doing. I
found that what we’d call armchair archeology was quite popular then and so I
combined my interest with that (cause who isn’t interested in archeology?) with
my love of adventure movies like Indiana Jones and The Mummy and ta-da my
Legend Hunters were born.
Can you tell us what you have up your sleeve next for this series? How many books do you have planned right
now? What else can we look forward from
you for the rest of 2011?
many details right now, but I do believe it will be another Victorian-set
trilogy. As soon as I have details I’ll put them on my Facebook and website. No
more books scheduled for 2011, though I am teaching a few on-line classes if
there are any aspiring writers out there, you can find details on those on my

be a dangerous question, let’s see the most recent movie I saw and loved was
The King’s Speech (which coincidentally you can see the Stone of Destiny in!)
it was moving and brilliant and wonderful. TV shows ah, that’s a long list as
well, or at times it is. Right now I’m loving Parenthood and I don’t miss that,
Being Human on SyFy, Castle (love, love, love!!!), and I love The Biggest
children. I will say I have special fondness for Willow from Tempted at Every
Turn, Esme from Seduce Me and Vanessa from Treasure Me, so I’ll say Vanessa
cause you can read and love her right now!
What are some things you do for fun?
much as I’d like. I love going to the movies. Hanging out with my husband is
probably my most favorite thing to do. He’s my best friend. I also love
brainstorming new book ideas, there’s such a rush when you know you’ve hit on something
good. My favorite hobby though is scrapbooking.

would have mastered that when I was younger, it might not be such a struggle

have ended up writing anyways. It’s just part of who I am, in my skin. I dig
Robyn thanks so much for stopping by today! I really appreciate you answering all these
questions. Do you have any last words or

me, it’s been awesome! Well, I’d love to say to all of you to rush right out

is who are your favorite authors? I love to talk books so I want to know who
everyone is reading.
