I check out the crowd at Riley’s Bar while I’m waiting for Gavin Riley to show up for our Q&A session. I’m so nervous about this Q&A session. What if I’m so distracted my Gavin’s hotness that’ll I’ll forget how to talk or what if I drool! These are the thoughts running through my head. Seriously the cover for Changing the Game runs on repeat in my head…the man is certified grade A candy!

While I was daydreaming about Gavin’s body the man himself appears suddenly in front of me. I’m so startled that I stand up and spill my coke down his pants. “Shit, I am so sorry, very sorry”, I say as I grab my napkin and proceed to ummm wipe his crotch area. Holy shit…..I’m wiping Gavin’s crotch..OMG! Gavin starts chuckling and takes the napkin from my hand and does his own wiping. I apologize again and Gavin just chuckles some more and excuses himself to go to the bathroom.

Great going idiot…sigh! Gavin comes back and I apologize again and introduce myself. “I’ve never had someone start of a Q&A session with a coke spill to my crotch. Nice way to break the ice”, Gavin says. I clear my throat and give him a nervous smile. “I am so sorry again. Thank you so much for agreeing to speak to me today”, I say. “No problem”, Gavin replies back. I look down at my notepad and ask the first question………

Ing: Thank you so much for agreeing to chat with me today Gavin! So how nervous are you about the release of “Changing the Game” and having everyone read your story. Have you read your book or Mick’s book?

Gavin: I live what’s in the pages. Jaci does all the writing. She’s nervous. I’m not.

Ing: If you’ve read either of the books was there anything you were surprise to learn or wish hadn’t been included in the books? Any other moments you wish had been included?

Gavin: No. I’m an open book…so to speak.

Ing: Congratulations on your recent engagement! Did you ever think you would commit to one woman? What made Elizabeth Darnell “THE ONE”? What was the moment when you realized she was “THE ONE”?

Gavin: I didn’t think I was ready to settle down, until I got tangled up with Liz. There’s just something about that woman, ya know? She’s in my blood.

Ing: What has been the best and worst thing about being in a relationship with Elizabeth? Are there any new discoveries about her that you are surprised about as you grow?

Gavin: The best thing about Liz is there’s never a dull moment. The worst thing about Liz is there’s never a dull moment. As far as new discoveries….she lied. She can cook.

Ing: What’s your favorite Elizabeth body part and tell me why!

Gavin: Her legs. She’s very flexible 😉

Ing: What’s the most romantic thing you’ve done lately for her and what’s the most romantic thing she’s done for you?

Gavin: Hmmm…what have I done for her lately? I made her pasta puttanesca for dinner the other weekend. As far as what she’s done for me lately? I can’t put that one down on paper. But trust me….it was really good.

Ing: So how are the wedding plans going? Any details that you can spill? Are you going to have a crazy bachelor party?

Gavin: Wedding plans? I just show up. The women are in charge of all that, thank God. And Mick’s in charge of the bachelor party. Liz just told him no strippers allowed.

Ing: So I have to ask how did you feel about all the smoking sex scenes that Jaci included in the book? Did she do you justice? And how does Elizabeth feel about the scenes. OMG have your parents read the book? LOL!

Gavin: There is a lot of sex isn’t there? * grin * And hell no my parents haven’t read the book. Geez.

(I look at the door and see Elizabeth walk through. This is my que to start wrapping up)

Ing: So let’s do a fast and furious 6 Q&A

If you are stranded on an island what are the 3 essential things you’d need to survive for a year?

Elizabeth, fishing line and fresh water.

Favorite dessert? Why?

Cheesecake. Because it’s cheesecake.

Favorite kind of music? Why?

Slow and sexy jazz. Great for holding your woman close and dancing. Good sex music, too.

Craziest place you’ve ever done the deed?

Uh….no comment. (seriously no comment?)

Favorite vacation spot? Why?

The beach house in Florida. Because that’s where Liz and I first got together.

If you weren’t playing baseball what else would you be doing?

I’d probably be a chef. But don’t tell Liz that. She has these crazy ideas…

Ing: Thank you for sitting and chatting with me today. Congrats again and best of luck with everything! Is there any last words or anything you’d like to say to the readers of my blog?

Gavin: Yeah. Buy the book. Read it. It’s good.

Book 1 of the Play-by-Play series

Cover Blurb:

Most people play by the rules. Gavin and Liz aren’t most people…

Win at any cost. That’s always been the mantra of sports agent Liz Darnell. When she carries things too far and risks losing her number-one client, baseball pro Gavin Riley,
Liz realizes that she’ll have to work extra innings to win him back. It
might not be too much of a stretch. She’s had a thing for this player’s
moves since she first laid eyes on him, and by the looks of it, he
wants her just as bad.

Gavin’s more than ready—especially when Liz is offering herself
as part of the bargain. And as much of her as Gavin wants. For added
thrills, he decides to throw a little curve ball Liz’s way to see just
how far she’s truly willing to go to keep him as a client. But when love
unexpectedly enters the playing field, neither Liz nor Gavin are ready
for the biggest game-changer of them all.

Book 1 of the Play-by-Play series
Cover Blurb:
Football pro Mick Riley is an all-star, both on the
field and in the bedroom. But a sexy, determinedly single mom just might
be the one to throw him off his game…

For years Mick has been taking full advantage of the life
available to a pro athlete: fame, fortune, and a different girl in every
city. But when he meets and beds confident, beautiful event planner Tara Lincoln,
he wants much more than the typical one-night stand. Too bad Tara’s not
interested in getting to know football’s most notorious playboy any

As the single mother of a teenage son, the last thing Tara
needs is the jet-set lifestyle of Mick Riley; even though their steamy
and passionate one-night stand was unforgettable. Tara’s life is
complicated enough without being thrust into the spotlight as Mick’s
latest girl du jour. Tara played the game of love once and lost big, and
she doesn’t intend to put herself out there again, especially with a
heartbreaker like Mick.

But when Mick sets his mind to win, nothing will stop him. And he has the perfect play in mind.

I would want the hero to play base ball, because when the batters swing the bat it’s so sexy and powerful.

  5. I’m a fantasy fan so my hero would ideally be playing something fantastical … and heroic 🙂
    Thanks for the giveaway.

  7. Uh, I’m not really big on sports but for a (hot) romance hero I’d make an exception. I guess I’d maybe like him to play ice hockey, because I’ve never actually seen a game but it seems really cool, and there’s something aggressive yet graceful about it because it’s on the ice. Thank you for the giveaway, I soooooo want to read this.

  8. I would like my hero to play basketball or Soccer[Football]!! I haven’t read this one yet, but I can’t wait to. Thanks for the giveaway!

  9. Anonymous

Baseball as I enjoyed playing softball myself and am a Met fan and my family all loves baseball.

    Natalie’s Mama

  10. I would pick baseball because it really has a lot of different personalities in the sport and it’s great fun to go to a ballpark and watch a game.

  11. I would like my hero to play hockey in my romance book because being a Canadian gal, hockey is the big thing here and I love watching hockey as well, rooting for my home team! Though I don’t really mind any other sport really since all athletes have a good build and quite smexy, lol 🙂

Thanks for the interview and awesome giveaway!

  12. I would hav to say I would love them to play rugby. It is a great sport to watch, men very sexy and play hard. Love to watch men play sports and be sweaty, nothing sexier.
would love to win this book. have seen many good things about it. have not read anything by this author yet and would love to try it out.

  13. I’m not that into sports but I do watch hockey! The guys are rough and hot! I loved Rachel Gibson’s hockey series! Those were Smokin’ hot books! I’m also looking forward to reading the 3rd book in Jaci’s Play by Play series. The hero is a hockey player! *SQUEE* Thanks for the chance to win!

  17. StacieDM

I loved the Pefect Play. I’ve been looking forward to Changing the Game since February.

My hero would be a horseman. He could be a polo player or a rodeo star. Both are dangerous and you need a certain personality to handle horses.

  18. Great interview! Very funny! I would loooooove to win those books.

So… What sport should the hero in my romance novel play? Hmmmm. What about fencing? Because you don’t immediately know what sexy creature is hiding beneath that costume and mask. Make your character be attracted to him and make love to him before she even sees his face. And the ‘violent’ nature of the sport can make it that much more exciting 😉

  19. I am a huge sports buff but by far my favorite is football! I was raised watching football since I was a tiny little girl and can’t remember not loving it! The perfect play was right up my alley! Although now I very curious about Gavin and Liz!

    mmafsmith at gmail dot com

  20. I’m a football fan, so I would want him to play football! I absolutely love this series! I haven’t read this one yet, but I can’t wait to. Thanks for the giveaway!

  21. I’m a sucker for ice hockey heroes. They are so *rawr*! 🙂
I love Jaci’s books! They are well written, hot and full of surprises, just how I like my romance books!
    Thank you for the giveaway.

  22. We come from a long history of both enjoying playing and watching baseball so I have been looking so forward to this book. Thanks for giving away a copy.

    gmapeony at yahoo dot com

  23. Okay baseball players are hot.. Gavin is defiently hot..
I like most sports in books, Baseball, football, hockey, golf, they are the ones most written about. One writer has a series about the UFC sports guys. Though I am not a bit fan of Soccer, you don’t read many books where this sport is being written about being played by either the hero or heroine…
I have not the had the opportunity to read any of Jaci’s books, but this interview will have me looking for her books….

  24. Awesome interview! Gavin is so yummy! If my hero had to play a sport, I’d want it to be hockey. All those pads and big uniforms almost always have delish bodies underneath. Thanks for the giveaway! I can’ wait to read Gavin and Liz’s story.

    jcross719 at yahoo dot com

  25. After reading Deirdre Martin’s books I have fallen in love with Hockey players. I also love Lori Foster’s UFC characters. So…my hero would be either a hockey player or UFC because they have some type of body flaw because the sport is rough and they are just so hawt!!

  26. Great interview. I am so wanting to read these books. My hero would be a hockey player. They are tough and sexy. Thanks for the awesome contest.

  27. patoct at yahoo dot com (so I don’t forget – posted right up front – lol)

Anyway I have grown up loving baseball so my hero would be a baseball player and there are so many hunky ones out there.

  28. I should be bad…so yes I am in 😉 Gavin is just too wicked to say no to, and Mick too

    blodeuedd1 at gmail dot com

He would…I do like hockey, but there was this one guy I did meet so no. Now what’s hot. The thing is that I have always had a thing for Tennis players 🙂

  29. I like all kinds of sports, but if I had to choose a sport for my hero, I think it would be baseball. It’s the least physical of the major sports so he wouldn’t be all sore and beat up after games and I wouldn’t have to watch other huge guys slamming into him all the time.
