Sorry for the delay in Day 3 post!  Anywhoo-welcome to Day 3 Rough Riders Series Event!  Today I have three wonderful Rough Riders fans joining me at ATPT.  They’re going to give you their opinion why you should check this series out!  I hope you are enjoying the posts and seriously considering joining the James gang!  So without further ado – take it away ladies!

I love the Rough Rider Series by Lorelei James. I started getting into romance books back in April of this year, and when I read “Long, Hard Ride”, I was hooked. I wanted to read nothing but cowboy romance books. I even went to my first rodeo since reading this series (did I mention that I have lived in Idaho for 20 years?). There are two books in the series that tickle my fancy, “Rough, Raw, and Ready” will be my first and “Strong, Silent Type” is my second. With RR&R, the love between the three of them is just amazing! And don’t forget about the sex, holy cow the sex! In Strong, Silent Type, I felt a connection with it because my husband and I went through a similar situation like that a few years back. It was nice to know that people, in real life and in fiction, can work it out and not just go straight to divorce.

Strong Silent Type made such a difference in my life.  While no one was thinking of leaving our marriage had became more a merger of roommates raising kids.  After reading Strong, Silent Type and seeing Quinn and Libby getting their marriage back on track I decided I wanted things to change.  Since my dh was getting ready to head off for a week of training for work I wrote a very long letter and hid it in his luggage.  Well,  it did make a difference and things are much better now then they were then.  A couple of months ago I even got him to read the book for himself.

Rough, Raw, And Ready was my introduction to the Rough Riders Series. The warning on the book was the deciding factor in choosing it.

Warning: This book contains unbelievably explicit sex, including multiple cowboy/cowgirl/cowboy ménage scenes, juicy, hot, male on male action, a bucketful of politically incorrect situations and true Western ideology.

This was the first time I’d ever seen a warning on a book. And to eyes that had just recently discovered erotic romances this was something. During the reading of Rough, Raw, And Ready, the running theme that kept coming to mind was: I didn’t know you could do that in a book.

The book delivered everything the warning cautioned and so much more. It could have easily read:

Warning: This book contains words that are going to tap into your senses, characters that are going to grab you and make you want to know what is going to happen next, and escapism that will take you where you need to be.

Thank you ladies for the sharing your thoughts!  I couldn’t agree with you all more.  It’s great to see how the storylines that Lorelei touch on can impact a readers life!  Good stuff I tell you!

  2. I like the warning for #1, something about the saying about the cows coming home. There was another book I read that mentioned going out til the cows came home. Just makes you laught and nekkid cowboy loving. MMMM.

  4. They’re all very inventive and interesting, but the one that stands out for me the most is… Long Hard Ride # 1! It’s just got everything I’m looking for… especially the mention of “hot nekkid cowboy man-love” and “graphic language that’d make your mama blush”. Too bad more things don’t come with a warning like that:)

  5. I think the warning for book #2 is the most interesting to me because I’m intrigued about the ‘nine ways til Sunday’ sex lol.

  6. So I’m thinking the warning on #9, who doesn’t want to see a attorney speechless? Plus it sounds kinky without giving away all the secrets to the book!

  7. OMG!!! They’re all HOT, but I’d have to say #2. How can you go wrong with ropes, spanking, and nekkid cowboys.

They are all good but my favorite

Branded as Trouble # 6 – Warning: This romp features nekkidness the cowboy way—sex with boots on and with boots off, dirty sex against a dirty pickup truck, bare-assed sex on a bear skin rug, graphic language, unfortunate aim with a nail gun, and improvisational use of whips and whipped cream.

  9. While they all sound great, #2 (naughty girls getting spanked) and #5 m/m both really interest me, along with #6 improvisational use of whips & whipped cream. I just can’t decide, lol.

  10. All of these warnings are great! I haven’t read any of the warnings before this, but the one for Casanova is my fav! This would have definitely enticed me to check out thus book!

  11. I loved ALL the warnings, but I think #5 was my favorite. It had Ménage scenes & male on male scenes & they are both the types of genres I like reading about. It helps that book 5 is 1 of my favorite books in the rough riders series. 😀

  12. #2 for sure. 🙂 It doesn’t get any hotter and escaping into a fantasy is what it’s all about, isn’t it ? Bring them on. 🙂
Thanks for this chance to win.
