During your last interview, did you feel as if you were you questioned by a mad scientist

No. I felt more like, man I am a boring person.

If you could be any character in fiction, whom would you be?

Crap I don’t have one true answer for you, because every time I read a new book I want to be the main fiction character, LOL. Who doesn’t when it’s a juicy story? (I don’t watch enough TV to dwell on a certain character)

If you could be a superhero, what would you want your superpowers to be?

That I would be able to travel anywhere in the world in a blink of an eye.

When did you first start writing and when did you finish your first book?

I started writing in the fall of 2012. My first book was written, edited, cover made, formatted and published within 14 weeks. That is very uncommon, things just happen to fall into place. I had an unbelievable start and met some great people along the way.

How would you describe yourself in three words?

Laugher * OCD * Honest

Do you ever experience writer’s block?

Yes, when I finish writing a book, I need to take a 4-6 week break after it’s published. I can push all I want to write but nothing comes. Until one day it’s like poof and I have a great story starter. I get pretty pumped when that happens. There are times in a middle of a book when I got nothing. I walk away for a few days then go back and re-read what was already written. Sometimes I edit the crap out of it and wonder what was I think when I wrote that? Usually that helps me carry on.

Do you work with an outline, or just write?

I do work with an outline but I have yet to follow one. On my last book I wrote, “The End” three times before it actually happened.

If you won $20 million in the lottery, what would you do with the money?

Bank it, pay my debt off, travel A LOT and support programs that are in desperate need of more money that the govn’t can’t offer, especially for children. I’d fund my own publishing house so small time indy authors, as myself have a better chance of being published.

What was your favorite chapter (or part) to write and why?

With Love- my favorite chapter is 7: the moment when Ally falls off the bed, it’s so me! The Game- the epilogue was my favorite, I laughed my butt off when I wrote the waxing scene.

Is anything in your book based on real life experiences or purely all imagination?

I believe that in every fiction story there is always real life experiences which grows and escalates into a story. But I’ll leave it up to the reader to guess which parts they are.

The Game – Kirsten Backhard Excerpt

I heard a phone ring, thinking it belonged to the salon. Nope, not my luck. The crazy wax witch answered her phone wasn’t like I could cover shit with my hands…well, except for my belly button.

“Hello?” I sat up, annoyed and pissed off. “Open vagina here.”

“No, I not busy.” She lifted her phone away from her to talk to me. “Two minutes.”

When I looked at those two pointed fingers, I wanted to poke her eyes out with them. I was trying to get up, but she kept pushing by vagina down.

“Wait, we do you hole next.”

Hole next? What the fuck? That was just over the top, even for me, so I just started doing the ugly pregnant laugh-cry. Even if I were to tell someone this story…seriously, who would believe this shit? Fuck my life!
