Title: Suspicious Minds (Fate, #3)
Author: Elizabeth Reyes
Genre: NA | Contemporary Romance
Release Date: February 21, 2015
Good girls cheat too.
It’s a bitter reality Lorenzo Moreno knows all too well.
After his “good girl” fiancée blind sides him by cheating on him with her ex Lorenzo swears off relationships for a while, if not forever.
Until Fate steps in.
Unable to fight the incredible pull he feels to Olivia, a girl who was supposed to be just a meaningless one night stand, Lorenzo gives into his heart. But only after making one thing utterly clear. He will not deal with any exe’s or other men in her life. Period.
She’s not that person anymore.
For too long Olivia Romero shamefully put up with an manipulative and overly controlling boyfriend. So when fate pairs her up with the gorgeous but intense Air Force pilot she’s ready to stand her ground. Cutting all ties with her ex is no sacrifice for Olivia. It’s why she willingly complies with Lorenzo’s uncompromising stipulation.
As their relationship intensifies so do Lorenzo’s suspicions about any man in her life. Determined to not be that weak girl anymore, Olivia demands to be trusted. Despite how vehement her new boyfriend can be, her diligence seems to be working.
But when an unforeseen crisis arises Olivia is forced to make a decision. A decision she knows in Lorenzo’s jaded and suspicious mind could be unforgivable.
Remember that “cheesy” email Enzo sent the “Liv of his life”? If you missed it, here’s the link to where it was shared during the blog tour. Well, it seems Olivia responded with a very interesting message of her own. But before we get to that, how many of you are wondering what’s up next for Elizabeth Reyes? What can we expect but most importantly WHO? I know I am! So with Elizabeth’s blessing we added an extra stop to the blog tour just so I could pick her brain and find out what’s she bringing us next, who’s it about, and when can we expect it. I’m sitting here with her now about to ask all the tough questions!
★ Q&A with Elizabeth Reyes ★
Ing: Elizabeth, thank you for taking time to leave your precious cave to give me this exclusive. Okay. Let’s have it. Inquiring minds are anxious to know. Who’s up next? Anyone we know?
EliRey: Actually, no. I do have familiar characters who still need their stories to be told, and I promise I’m all over it! Their stories are coming. Old friends like Sydney and newer ones like Olivia’s siblings and some other stuff I’ll be making announcements about later this year. But first I have something different I’ve been working on. A brand new couple whose story I’m very excited about. This is different from anything I’ve ever put out because I’ll be releasing it in Installments. Yes, a serial. There’s good reason. So for those who hate them, please hold your fire! First, let me explain to those not familiar with serials what this is. It’s a story released in volumes or episodes. Think TV miniseries. It’s different from a typical book series because the volumes are shorter than the full-length stories in a regular series. The good thing is you don’t have to wait as long to get the next volume. I’ll be releasing these three Fridays in a row.
Now the answer to the inevitable question of why I’m releasing this story this way is difficult to answer without giving away spoilers. What I want to make clear is I’m not doing this to jump on the serial bandwagon. I’m not doing it to gouge my readers out of more money. It will be priced accordingly, so in the end, you’ll pay about the same for all three volumes as you would for one of my regular full-length new releases. And I’m not doing it to torture you by making you wait a whole week to find out what happens next. You know me. I would never tease y’all like that! *flutters lashes* 😉
Basically, this story is one I’ve been working on for years. Like all my stories it came to me one day and then started building and building. It’s a contemporary romance with a twist. The twist is the reason why I’m releasing in installments. There are no paranormal or sci-fi elements at all. It’s realistic fiction like all my other stories have been: hot possessive alpha male hero, sweet innocent but strong willed heroine, dual POV’s and all. But the subject matter of the twist might be touchy for some. And NO, no incest or step-brother love story here.
Ing: Hmm. Curious though, why not just warn readers beforehand, let them decide and give it to us all at once?
EliRey: Two reasons.
First, I said the subject matter about the twist might be touchy for some, but that’s just me being overly cautious. It’s really not that big a deal, so I’d hate for readers to read the warning, make assumptions, and not give the story a chance based on what they think they’ll be reading. So by releasing it in installments, I hope the reader might object less if they only paid $0.99 vs. $3.99 for a story they may not want to continue reading, if in fact they really don’t. Of course, my hope is they’ll be so sucked in by the intense conflict they’ll have to keep reading. 😉
Second, even though the reader finds out the twist in the first third of the serial, it’s still a spoiler because the twist doesn’t happen until close to the end of the first volume. So I’d rather readers go in not knowing what to expect and experience the twist for themselves without knowing it’s coming. =)
Ing: Interesting . . . and when can we expect this serial to begin?
EliRey: I don’t have an exact date, but I’m thinking mid-to-late May. However, I’m putting on the final touches now and am almost ready to send it off to my editor. If we get it done sooner, I wouldn’t hold off putting it out sooner. So check my website often and make sure you sign up for the newsletter so you don’t miss out on the announcements.
Ing: Well now I’m going to be dying to know. Can we at least get a little hint of what the story is about?
EliRey: I can do better than that. I can give you the title, the blurb to the first volume, and a cover tease! All three volumes will be Defining Love with their respective volume numbers.
Here is the exclusive release of the blurb to Defining Love (Volume 1) approximately 25k words long coming in late Spring of 2015.
Being friends before becoming lovers makes for stronger relationships.
Aaron and Henrietta can certainly attest to this. It takes time to develop the kind of deep relationship each is in. Both are committed and fiercely loyal to a lover they each consider their best friend.
Then one night Aaron and Henri meet.
After a single conversation, neither can explain the profound connection they’re feeling. Is it intrigue? Lust? How can one chance meeting—one conversation–possibly have them questioning everything they ever believed about love?
And here is the first exclusive peek of the Defining Love (Volume 1) cover. Full cover reveals and blurbs to the next two volumes coming soon!
Now if you thought that wasn’t a well disguised teaser, take look at Olivia’s (Liv) short response to Enzo’s anniversary email. I’ll read it to you nice and slow since it’s a short one, but then we’re grilling Mrs. Reyes about this! No way is she getting off that easy leaving us hanging like this! And seriously how cute are these two. They are freaking adorable.
Happy anniversary my sexy pilot husband!
Liv of your life. I love it! Funny you should mention the disgustingly love sick bunch. I’m glad you’re embracing and accepting that you’ve become one of them because something tells me you’ll be getting even mushier when you get home to your anniversary surprise. I’m dying to show you. So drive safe, but hurry home to me, baby!
Love you more with every single breath I take!
Alright so let’s have it—Elizabeth? Elizabeth? Freaking sneaky woman snuck out while I was reading Liv’s response to you all? I guess we’ll have to wait until the next book in the Fate series to find out what the heck that surprise was! Anyone want to take a guess what it is? EEK! Very excited. 😉
